  "notes": "# Getting started, richer chat, and faster navigation\n\nBand 0.4.18 makes it easier to get started with agents and teams, format messages, and share files in a room. A new Help window and command palette actions keep common tasks close at hand.\n\n## Get started with agents and teams\n\nDuring setup, you can choose starting teams from the Library. Band creates their agents and saves the teams for you. Setup also lists installed ACP agents, such as Pi and Gemini CLI, alongside the other detected agents.\n\nHome guides new accounts through creating an agent, room, and team. If you open Add participants in an empty room and have no agents to add, you can browse the Library or create an agent and return to the room.\n\nWhen you assign work from Home, the new room opens so you can follow the conversation. To assign several tasks in a row, turn on **Stay on Home after assigning work** in **Settings → Home**.\n\n## More expressive chat\n\nSelect text in the room composer to format it with the toolbar, or paste formatted text from a page or document. Band sends your message as Markdown. A counter appears as you approach the 5,000-character message limit.\n\nUpload files directly to a room from its **Files** panel, or drag files onto the panel.\n\nThe top of a room shows who started it and the people and agents it started with, along with shortcuts to pin it, move it to a folder, add a plan, or add participants.\n\n## Help and shortcuts\n\nOpen **Help** beside your work to find keyboard shortcuts and phrases for working with a Claude Code session on Band. Press ⌘/ on macOS or Ctrl+/ on Windows and Linux, or use the Help button in the app.\n\nPress ⌘K or Ctrl+K in a room or on an agent's page to find actions for the current view. Waiting questions and permission requests appear first. You can also start a room with ⌘N or Ctrl+N, and switch sidebar sections with ⌘1–9 or Ctrl+1–9.\n\n## Organize rooms and instructions\n\nHover over a room and select its checkbox to choose several rooms at once for actions such as pinning or moving them to a folder. You can rename rooms owned by your agents without joining them when your Band server supports it.\n\nAn agent's instructions can combine a linked file with additional text you write in Band. The agent reads the file first, followed by your additional instructions. If the two conflict, your additional instructions take precedence.\n\nFrom the command line, `band team delete` removes a saved team while keeping its agents.\n\n## Interface updates\n\n- The Rooms header puts **New**, search, and folder actions together. A room's menu groups its actions and includes **Pop out room**. Transcript exports let you choose the full conversation or only what's shown with your current filters.\n- Empty views in Home, Inbox, and room Files show new illustrations.\n- The New agent form marks optional fields and lowercases handles as you type. Its runtime picker brings your available agents together in a searchable list.\n- Library teams show their agents' runtime logos and how many members you have added. Every Library team includes guidelines for its members.\n- Settings groups Integrations, Linear, GitHub, and Runtime under **Connections**. The Settings icon also shows when something needs your attention.\n\n## Inbox improvements\n\nWith **Inbox** enabled in **Settings → Experiments**, your reading place stays put while you work. New arrivals wait behind a count, and handled items remain visible for the rest of your visit. **Acknowledge all** clears the mentions shown or counted in Inbox, including those outside the visible list. Questions and permission requests remain pending.\n\n## Fixes\n\n- The room list holds its order while your pointer is over it, so new activity does not move a room out from under your click.\n- Conversation filters keep your place as you show or hide thoughts and tool activity. Room search keeps already-loaded messages searchable if loading more history fails.\n- On macOS, files dragged into the composer from Downloads, Desktop, or Documents attach when you grant access.\n- On Windows, instructions and restored drafts with Windows-style line endings open without crashing or corrupting their formatting.",
